L-theanine is an amino acid found predominantly in green tea leaves. It has been been widely studied as a non drowsy relaxing agent in several scientific studies. In a human study, it was observed that oral intake of L-theanine could cause anti-stress effects via the inhibition of cortical neuron excitation.
